Most of the HIV-positive patients try to avoid surgery, but now they have a reason to think about it if they find it necessary and this reason comes off a new research, which has uncovered the fact that patients with HIV infection can recover as easily as uninfected patients.
Deep study of surgery data of both HIV-positive and HIV-negative patients has impelled researchers to say so because through this data it has been cleared that complication and death rates had not much difference. However, it is noticeable that these HIV-positive patients were on Highly Active Anti-Retroviral Therapy, also called HAART.
Facts looming out of this study are really very significant as they help shattering the old beliefs, which state that patients with HIV-positive should try to stay away from surgeries as far as possible owing to their weak immune system. Certainly, it’s a great leap forward for HIV patients and would instill more confidence in their fight against AIDS.
