After speaking to many Americans, I got the impression that according to them, AIDS virus originated in Africa. Specifically, the virus was carried to the U.S. by an Haitian immigrant.
This is what Michael Worobey, an evolutionary biologist based out of University of Arizona found out. According to him, the AIDS virus was carried to the US by a single Haitian immigrant. I am positive that this news will effect future Haitian immigrants to U.S. unfortunately.
A chilling cold truth that we must be aware of is the fact that the AIDS virus has been going around for a period of 12 years or so. The findings by Worobey finally conclude the debate regarding the origination of AIDS virus. Basically, once you are infected with this virus, you die a slow death. Well, you are probably wondering why Haiti?
The Haitian sex tourism is being blamed for the spreading of AIDS virus throughout the world. During the 60’s and 70’s, Haiti became popular for sex tourism. So it’s more than likely that someone visiting the country with the sex tour in mind, got infected with AIDs and eventually spread the virus all around. Researchers came to this conclusion after having looked at the AIDS patient between 1982 and 1983. I think this research clears up everything.
