During the opening six days of December will help students and community members to actively join, learn and support the HIV and AIDS awareness campaign via a series of events backed by the Black Student Union(BSU) and Outlook.
Maria Davis is going to speak about her personal experience with AIDS on Tuesday evening, Dec. 6 in Jam-rich Room 102. This event is free to attend and sponsored by BSU.
“What better way to reach the masses, educate and teach them on AIDS prevention and awareness than to have someone with the virus speaking?” said Aaron Whitaker, a psychology training and development graduate student and BSU president. “We thought it was a good idea, all of this information coming from someone who is dealing with this every day.”
About 16 years ago, Maria Davis contracted with the HIV virus. She stands for a group that has been affected by the AIDS pandemic.
Whitaker is Forced to the cause of HIV and AIDS awareness just after she lost a close relative from the AIDS virus. She intends to spread awareness and assistance to the people to realize that no one is protected to the disease and demonstrate how it changes people’s lives. The address by Davis will portray how her life transformed after realizing that she had AIDS and to provide awareness and prevention tips for the disease.
