Whether it is time to help poor nations or to fight HIV/AIDS, billionaire philanthropist Bill Gates never seems reluctant to snatch any such opportunity. This time Bill Gates has come forward paying a helping hand to the Canadian government for developing a vaccine aimed at fighting HIV/AIDS.
According to officials the government is committing up to $94 million (U.S.)to the Canadian HIV Vaccine Initiative, and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation will provide up to $24 million (U.S.).
Uncovering the importance of this joint venture Prime Minister Stephen Harper remarked:
(It) will allow us to accelerate the pace towards the discovery of an HIV vaccine, construct a facility to manufacture promising vaccines for clinical trials, move vaccines to the clinical trial stage more quickly, (and) improve access to an eventual vaccine.
Talking on the same issue Bill Gates asserted:
The long-term solution is a vaccine and I think that scientists are in strong agreement that this will be one of the toughest vaccines ever to create and yet it needs to be, therefore, a priority.
Bill Gates’s contribution in humanitarian sphere is constantly increasing, which is a good thing. In fact, industrialists all round the world should look at Bill Gates as a perfect confluence of business skills and generosity and come forward for helping whimpering humanity.
